Indiana Hospital & Heart Institute, Mangalore, commemorated the successful completion of six years of its Structural Heart Programme with a special event that felicitated patients who had undergone advanced procedures including TAVR, TMVR, and MitraClip at the centre. The Structural Heart Programme has been a landmark in cardiac care, offering surgery-free solutions for complex heart conditions with enhanced precision, quicker recovery, and shorter hospital stays. Among the attendees were TAVR patients, including the very first patient treated under the programme, along with many others from Kerala and Karnataka, who were honored by Dr. Yusuf Kumble and his dedicated team. Several patients shared their inspiring journeys of recovery, highlighting how the programme has enabled them to lead healthier, active lives. The event was graced by Dr. Thimmaiah HR, District Health Officer, Dakshina Kannada, who appreciated the hospital’s contribution to advanced cardiac care in the region. Launched in 2019, Indiana Hospital’s Structural Heart Programme has continued to expand its reach and recognition, especially in Kerala and Karnataka. Significantly, Indiana Hospital remains the first centre to perform TAVR and TMVR in Coastal Karnataka and North Kerala, setting new benchmarks in innovative and minimally invasive heart care.
